WELCOME TO MAGIC VALLEY ONE LOFT RACE!
My name is John Diefendorf, and I am the owner and manager of Magic Valley OLR (MVOLR). In 2024, my wife Jordan and I, along with our two kids, purchased our new property outside of Kimberly Idaho. This property boasts panoramic wide open views, ideal for flying pigeons and hosting an OLR. The new loft, that is nearing completion, has 100% expanded metal floors throughout, full access South facing aviaries, and excellent ventilation. The race loft is approximately 2,490 sq. ft with an integrated loading room. The intake and quarantine facility is located in a completely separate building. A custom trailer is currently under construction at a local fabrication shop. Photos and videos will be posted on Facebook for those who would like to see the progress.
Prior to the moving to Southern Idaho, I lived and raced pigeons in Oregon with the Central Oregon Racing Pigeon Club, CORP. I was fortunate to race in a well established club with elite fliers. The club consisted of many individual flyers with 5-6 decades of racing experience and two local well known OLR mangers/owners. The level of competition was excellent! Being part of a club with such high level competition, in addition to the members’ top tier knowledge of the sport, was an absolute privilege.
Fast forward to today, we just finished flying our 2025 MVOLR test season. The 2025 test season will look very similar to the official 2026 MVOLR season. With a large team of my own 2025 Young Birds, I flew and tested the entire course. This group of birds flew over 1,160 flown road miles prior to the 125 mile Activation Race. After the activation, they flew a complete race series, including a 150 mile, 201 mile, 249 mile, 301 mile, and 359 mile final race. In total, they flew 2,949 miles between road training and races. Please check out the season results and stats here, or under the About - 2025 Test Season tab. Videos of the race releases and longer trainers are also available here on YouTube.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, I would enjoy meeting you and sharing more information. We hope you join us for the 2026 MVOLR Season!
